1956 UAA Tourist Trophy

I'm Billy Rhodes broadcasting live from Strathcona Park for the 25th running of the UAA Tourist Trophy. Lincoln has introduced a new model, the 285hp Capri, which is sure to give the Packards a run for their money. Renault has also introduced a new model, the Dauphine which is not expected to be competitive as it only has 32hp.

The Flag drops and were away! The Lincolns and Packards lead the pack!

Cedric McCaig and Bruce Dempsey collide on lap 8. On the following lap, Henry Preston runs over debris from the previous laps crash, giving him a puncture.

Pat Elway-Derrick has a broken clutch on lap 11.

Fredrick Russell drops oil on lap 16, causing Roy Wolfe to spin out on the following lap.

Evan Doyle also drops oil on lap 20, causing Ethan MacCallum to spin out on the following lap as well.

Robert Hewley gets an engine failure on lap 28.

Trevor Moray leaks oil on lap 33, causing 4 cars to spin out over the next 2 laps.

Emmerson Huxtable suffers a conrod failure on lap 40.

The Rigby brothers loses their magneto on lap 42.

Arnie Seidel breaks his brakes (geddit?) on lap 48.

Jack Hiram has transmission trouble on lap 63.

Brian Nicholson gets a broken crankshaft on lap 65.

Bert Bryson suffers a gearbox failure on lap 69.

Fred Aukes drops oil on lap 74, causing 4 cars to spin out over the next 3 laps.

Lucjo Silva has a driveshaft failure on lap 79.

Within an hour a massive storm engulf the track. The first victim is Elias Andrews on lap 127.

On lap 130, Norman Browne and Selwyn Watson slip off the road.

2 laps later Tim Anderson crashes his works Packard.

Cyril Elway slides off the road on lap 137.

Moses Lyne and Adrian Hudson crash within 2 laps of each other.

Colin Reyer runs out of fuel on lap 159, just two laps from the end.
